WLR3 Explained


In order to manage the network service fulfillment, BT Openreach have implemented a new system known as the Equivalence Management Platform (EMP). At present most Communications Providers access the EMP via a WLR2 gateway or web portal which links into Openreach's line ordering and management systems.

With WLR3 we can for the first time link our internal ordering system directly into Openreach.

 

Benefits of WLR3

WLR3 brings a number of major advantages and benefits over the existing WLR2 service, these are:

Increases the speed of order fulfillment

WLR3 will massively improve the speed and ease of placing orders for lines. WLR3 orders are placed immediately rather that entering a queue as with WLR2.

Complete control

WLR3 access places IDS in complete control of the line management process, from ordering products to logging faults we can provide your business with comprehensive status updates.

Improved service to clients

The depth of information available to IDS Utilities via WLR3, far exceeds anything previously available with WLR2.

We view all the detail regarding your line at the point of order, so we can see your calling and network options, any open orders, directory information, care levels, exchange types that might be relevant to your order. We can also look up customer addresses in the BT database, so that we nearly always get a correct address match - which reduces the chances of order rejection. In addition, we can see ‘Stop Lines’ at your premises that can be quickly re-connected. All of our actions requests in real-time are processed in real-time using the same data available to Openreach.

Appointment booking

We now have access to the BT Openreach appointment diary and when we enter a desired date for service provision, the WLR3 system will return up to 20 available appointments for us to book. We can also view engineering notes and site survey details entered by the BT Openreach team, allowing us to greatly improve the information and advice that we give to our clients.

Constant Feedback

Once an order is placed, the WLR3 constantly will 'push' all information about your line order to IDS Utilities, allowing us to always know the status of your order.

Number reservation

WLR3 gives us instant access to a selection of available telephone numbers . If you want time to consider your options, we can reserve your favourite numbers for you - in real-time.

Improved fault logging

WLR3 allows our support team to conduct a line test and instantly receive a test result. We can also log a fault (Request Trouble Report) and instantly add or modify a temporary call divert if required. Status updates are ‘pushed’ back to our control centre enabling us to keep you advised at all times.

Temporary sites

WLR3 allows us to provision lines into temporary sites, eg. construction sites, exhibitions and events. Depending on your requirements we may also be able to shorten the duration of your line rental, to a duration more suited to the nature of your business.
